About the role
Calvary Viewhills has a Permanent Part-time opportunity available for a Maintenance Officer. We are seeking a competent reliable and flexible Maintenance Officer to ensure the home is provided with a timely skilled and customer focused maintenance service. This role involves close contact with residents families and clinical staff and good communication gentle approach and sensitivity are required.
This position is responsible for supporting the Home Manager with the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the homes assets some supervision of contractor works and ensuring a secure and safe environment for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and attractive living environment to suit the needs of the residents
- Identify and prioritise resident needs to create a more home like environment
- Ensure the level of local repairs are attended to promptly & use of external contractors is reviewed by the Site Manager as required
- Maintain a planned preventative program along with ensuring documentation requirements are met
- Attend site meetings & any mandatory staff training as directed by Home Manager & Asset Manager
- Liaise with both internal & external customers (residents families contractors & visitors) in a compassionate helpful manner that best reflects Calvary Values and Mission
- Maintain strict privacy & dignity in all dealings with residents and staff
About you
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a trade domestic repair general handyman and electronic maintenance management system experience.
- Experience in identifying standards as they relate to the provision of building maintenance
- A genuine interest in learning new skills being outdoors and hands-on who will enjoy chatting with residents
- A commitment to continuous improvement that enhances resident lives
- Certificate / experience in a relevant trade
- Basic computer skills in Office Word Excel etc. (essential)
- Knowledge of MSDS WHS
