Lead Engineering Technician
Work schedule: 2nd shift - must be willing to work a flexible work schedule including working weekends or moving temporarily to 1st or 3rd shift as hardware schedule fluctuates.
Performs hands-on diverse technical tasks related to testing advanced electronics assemblies for space applications. This position supports testing troubleshooting and fault isolation of these assemblies by performing well defined development tests system integration and formal acceptance tests which includes environmental testing. Pro-activeness good communication skills and discipline are essential for this position.
This job entails dynamic thermal and functional testing. It includes the ability to set-up program and operate special test equipment to perform Acceptance Test Procedures. It also requires lifting and handling fixtures as well as the ability to handle and manipulate delicate circuit card assemblies.
Must be able to keep detailed test logs follow detailed test procedures without error and provide daily pass-along shift information (both verbal and written documentation).The technician will assist in preparing the test documentation and reviewing test work instructions and procedures.
Execute on cleanliness/standardization Safety and equipment/lab maintenance tasks on a daily basis. Must demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
Daily interaction with both test technicians and engineers. Communication and Teamwork skills are extremely important.
YOU MUST HAVE
High School Diploma or GED
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook Teams etc.) required.
WE VALUE
Associates technical degree or equivalent military training/experience preferred.
Prior Military service a plus.
Experience with Guidance and Navigation Electronics systems a plus.
Environmental test experience is a plus.
Experience with general test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscope function generator power supplies DMM etc).
Attention to detail is a must. Ability to follow step-by-step procedures and follow precise instructions.
Ability flexibility and willingness to work different shifts flex shifts and alternate work weeks including overtime and weekends on a long-term daily basis as business needs require.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in an electronics discipline.
Ability to read schematics follow procedures and apply computer skills and technical knowledge to competently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
Capable of generating clear and precise technical documentation for the preparation of event records engineering orders and data book entries.
Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.
