Job Summary: The X-Ray Technician performs a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires strong technical skills attention to detail and the ability to provide safe high-quality imaging while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The technologist collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to maintain efficient workflow and uphold imaging standards. This position is full-time 40 hours per week working 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures following established protocols.
Position patients safely and accurately to ensure optimal image quality.
Operate radiographic equipment in compliance with radiation safety guidelines and state regulations.
Review medical orders verify patient identity and obtain appropriate clinical histories.
Maintain accurate records imaging documentation and patient information.
Ensure a safe clean and effective working environment in the imaging suite.
Communicate clearly with patients providing reassurance and instructions before and during procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support efficient imaging workflow.
Monitor equipment functionality and report any issues for maintenance.
Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles at all times.
Requirements
Ability to perform a variety of diagnostic X-ray procedures with competency and accuracy
Strong communication teamwork and patient interaction skills
Dependability and strong focus on quality and safety
Ability to maintain a safe and effective work environment
Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology Required
Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification Required
License: Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T) Required
