The Privacy team within Client Data Practice builds the governments capabilities in data privacy and advances the adoption of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs). As a Data Scientist with us you will be at the forefront of privacy engineering; leveraging machine learning and AI to develop scalable impactful technologies that enable safe and effective data sharing. Our mission is to unlock the potential of data for public good while upholding the highest standards of privacy and security. By protecting citizen data and strengthening trust we empower agencies to deliver better digital services for all.
PETs are not new but they have been challenging to implement in real use cases whether within or outside of government. The team aims to bridge the gap between research and adoption through experimentation and piloting with agencies to assess the feasibility and utility of each technology and prepare them for wider adoption in government whether it be through building products evaluating current solutions developing clear guidelines around usage or education.
For example the team has built tools like Cloak used by 100 agencies to anonymise over 30M documents for analytics and Generative AI and Mirage for Synthetic Data Generation; an emerging technology that creates safe shareable alternatives to sensitive data.
The teams portfolio currently includes Advanced Anonymisation Synthetic Data Generation Homomorphic Encryption Differential Privacy Federated Analytics Federated Learning and Trusted Execution Environments.
We are seeking a Data Scientist to: (a) Conduct rigorous research and experimentation to evaluate emerging privacy solutions (b) Design scalable implementable workflows tailored for government agency adoption and (c) Create comprehensive guidelines and frameworks that enable successful deployment of PETs.

Job Scope
