About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupations Readiness Manager to oversee the planning coordination and delivery of rail occupations and possessions across multiple project interfaces. You will work closely with operational teams contractors and rail authorities to ensure occupation activities are delivered safely efficiently and in alignment with project milestones.
This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced infrastructure environment has strong technical knowledge of rail operations and can lead multi-disciplinary teams through time-critical activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end planning and readiness for rail occupations and possessions
Develop occupation plans including safety protocols contingency strategies and methodology
Coordinate with engineering construction and operational teams to meet occupation requirements
Manage occupation control functions during disruptive works including communications and handback processes
Liaise with operators authorities and stakeholders to obtain required approvals
Oversee risk management safety compliance and operational readiness
Prepare readiness reports briefings and occupation updates for internal and external stakeholders
Support the development of systems procedures and access processes
Provide leadership to teams delivering occupation and access activities
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
35 years experience in rail occupations access management or rail operational planning
Demonstrated experience delivering occupations on major rail or civil infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of rail safety regulations standards and industry practices
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent occupations
Advanced planning organisation and stakeholder management skills
Experience working in high-pressure safety-critical environments
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge
Engineering project management or rail-related qualifications
Experience within Australian rail infrastructure
Strong knowledge of possession planning track access and operational readiness processes
