Why this job is important

As a Senior Country Controller you will be responsible for all financial operations for the country ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and providing strategic financial guidance to support the companys growth and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management regulatory compliance and the ability to lead a finance team effectively.

What youll be doing

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded filed and reported.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax legal and regulatory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and reporting.
  • Implement robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Work closely with department heads regional finance teams and external auditors to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
  • Coordinate statutory audits ensuring they run smoothly and on time.
  • Ensure all tax requirements are fulfilled and local requirements are properly accomplished.
  • Act as the main point of contact for KPMG (MSP) and stakeholders including the Country MD Country CFO and country board.
  • Review and sign off on balance sheets and P&L statements in collaboration with BPO and R2D.

The skills & experience needed as Senior Country Controller

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in financial management preferably within a multinational corporation.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in managing compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and other data visualisation tools.
  • Experience with international accounting standards and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
