Responsible for maintaining departmental equipment within the Poles operation necessary for maintaining a 98% mechanical uptime level. Services repairs fabricates works with Poles Inventory Control Specialist to source necessary parts or identify replacement parts to be added to inventory and works with Engineering to support project needs on the Poles campus. Responsible for scheduling personnel performing mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.
- Responsible for supporting a safe work environment and promoting safety engagement in the department.
- Ensures all departmental production areas are maintained daily and are kept clean and orderly free from maintenance spare parts decommissioned parts and general trash.
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and /or determine need for adjustment or repair.
- Works with Maintenance Planner to build daily and weekly schedules for all shifts of maintenance support.
- Oversees work of subordinates performing trouble shooting or repairs:
- Dismantle machines/equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts.
- Replace defective parts with new parts repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
- Assembles and cycles machines to verify correction of malfunction.
- Works with Planner to oversee PM program in structure and effectiveness.
- Inspects work of subordinate workers.
- Communicates effectively within department and other departments as necessary
- Works with storeroom support staff to ensure effective spare parts.
- Fosters positive work relationships.
- Observes and enforces all Company housekeeping safety plant rules and plant policies and procedures.
- Possess strong written oral communication and facilitation skills.
- Recommends necessary action to Poles Operation Manager on personnel management matters.
- Trains develops mentors and assists subordinates.
- Creates and maintains a culture of continuous improvement.
- Addresses errors problems and complaints within scope of authority.
- Motivates and encourages teamwork within the department to ensure productivity targets are met.
- Keeps Operations Manager and other key managers informed of important matters as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises electrical and mechanical technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Companys policies practices and procedures. Responsibilities include assigning work force while directing workforce; interviewing rewarding and disciplining employees; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
