We are looking for an Occupational Hygiene Advisor to join the Greater Nammuldi Health and Safety this role youll work closely with operations and stakeholders to drive health and hygiene performance across site activities. Youll support the implementation of effective health and safety programs and provide asset-based occupational hygiene support to meet operational requirements.

Youll be part of a collaborative team with strong support to grow both personally and professionally. Enjoy a lifestyle-friendly 5:2 / 4:3 roster giving you regular long weekends and more time for what matters most.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent you will:

  • Oversee governance quality control and compliance of monitoring data reports and annual risk-based hygiene plans

  • Conduct personal exposure monitoring water testing and health surveillance including associated medical reviews and follow-ups

  • Investigate occupational exposures and potential health impacts and manage unexpected exceedances

  • Recommend and assess control measures for occupational hygiene risks applying the hierarchy of controls

  • Lead process improvements to standardise and streamline hygiene systems and practices

  • Support and participate in first-party assurance audits against Rio Tinto health standards

  • Engage with HSEC professionals site leaders and operational teams to educate communicate and promote best practices

  • Ensure completion of all annual and legislated occupational hygiene reporting requirements

What youll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Tertiary qualified in occupational hygiene allied health or related science field

  • Demonstrated experience in similar role

  • Surface ventilation officer noise officer audiometric officer qualifications

  • Experience in mining or similar heavy industry

  • Strong communication engagement and influencing skills

  • Strong analytical and technical capability

  • Current (or eligible) member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH).

  • Familiarity with Rio Tinto systems standards risk management and assurance processes is highly desirable.

Located 100 kilometres north-west of Tom Price Greater Nammuldi comprises of Brockman 2 Nammuldi and Silvergrass mines. Renowned for its strong safety culture and diverse fly-in fly-out workforce the site welcomes employees from Perth Albany Geraldton and Busselton via Rio Tintos Boolgeeda Airport.

With two villages one currently undergoing expansion Greater Nammuldi offers exceptional facilities to support its team. The site contributes to both SP10 and Pilbara Blend products and has a rich history with Brockman 2 mine dating back to 1993. Nammuldi mine is also one of the worlds first autonomous mines.

Together with Brockman 4 Greater Nammuldi boasts one of the largest fleets of autonomous haul trucks in the world.
