Purpose

The Annual Fund Specialist plays a pivotal role in growing Kinderings philanthropic base through effective management of the annual fund direct mail and digital campaigns and general giving initiatives. This position supports the Advancement team by coordinating year-end solicitations managing individual donor engagement below the major gift threshold ($10000) supporting third-party fundraising efforts and piloting new revenue-generating events.

The role also oversees the organizations volunteer engagement program fostering meaningful connections between community members and Kinderings mission.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position with a pay range of $30.16-50.03/hour commensurate with experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Annual Fund & General Giving (40%)

  • Develop coordinate and execute annual giving campaigns including direct mail digital and year-end solicitations.
  • Manage donor segmentation tracking and communications for individuals giving below $10000.
  • Analyze giving trends and campaign results to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager Individual Giving & Events to ensure alignment with broader fundraising strategies.
  • Support donor stewardship and engagement activities such as thank-you calls impact updates and personalized outreach.

Corporate Partnerships & Third-Party Fundraisers (20%)

  • Manage outreach and stewardship of corporate partners and community groups hosting external fundraisers.
  • Coordinate event promotion branding support and donation processing for partner-led initiatives.
  • Research and cultivate potential new corporate and community fundraising relationships.
  • Track third-party and partnership giving metrics for reporting and recognition.

Event Pilots & Revenue Innovation (15%)

  • Collaborate with Advancement leadership to identify and test new revenue-generating event concepts.
  • Support event logistics marketing coordination and post-event analysis for pilot programs.
  • Provide recommendations on event scalability donor engagement value and return on investment.

Volunteer Engagement (20%)

  • Oversee Kinderings Volunteer Program in collaboration with HR and program teams.
  • Recruit onboard and support volunteers for events and campus-based opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records ensuring a welcoming inclusive and mission-driven experience.
  • Partner with program staff to identify new and meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.

Data Systems and Administration (5%)

  • Ensure accurate donor and volunteer data in Kinderings databases (Neon One Greater Giving) with Administrative Assistants.
  • Prepare and analyze reports dashboards and campaign summaries for Advancement leadership.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment and stewardship of gifts and volunteer contributions.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising marketing or donor relations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing direct mail digital giving campaigns or annual funds.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects meet deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with donor databases (Neon One Greater Giving or similar).
  • Experience with volunteer management or community engagement preferred.

Minimum Prerequisites

  • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all client and donor information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced skills in MS Word Excel and Access
  • Possess a valid Washington State drivers license and maintain valid automobile insurance coverage
  • Have access to a dependable personal vehicle for transportation purposes
  • Provide documentation of a negative tuberculosis test result
  • Provide proof of current immunizations including COVID-19 and Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccines or submit a titer test result demonstrating immunity*

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • To perform the job the employee may frequently be required to talk hear stand and walk or through other appropriate means to accomplish the work including mobility and assistive employee is occasionally required to stoop climb balance kneel bend crouch crawl and reach with hands and employee may be required to carry children and materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • The work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level. Occasional travel to other areas of the facility may be required where the noise level is moderate to loud and environmental conditions may include slippery surfaces crowded areas or working near moving parts (e.g. exercise equipment).Local travel may be required
