Job Summary
LK Jordan is currently seeking a seasoned Accountant who will play a key role in supporting a credit unions financial operations by performing timely and accurate reconciliations preparing month-end financial reviews and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal policies. This member-focused financial institution is dedicated to providing exceptional service financial guidance and trusted products to our position works closely with the Finance team to maintain the integrity of financial data and support efficient reporting and decision-making. Salary is based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily weekly and monthly account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
Prepare and assist with month-end closing activities including journal entries accruals and variance analysis.
Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness; recommend adjustments as needed.
Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and explanations as required.
Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and enhance financial efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance department.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in account reconciliations and month-end review (credit union or financial institution experience preferred).
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUPs etc.).
Excellent attention to detail organizational skills and analytical abilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
