Position Summary
The Texas Stock Exchange is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to own and scale our data and analytics is a highly visible hands-on leadership role that blends architecture software engineering and product thinking. Youll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to build data-driven systems that power our platform. The ideal candidate is a Software Engineer with full-stack experience and a passion for data engineering AI/ML and financial technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our technical design development and deployment of solutions.
- Architect and build scalable secure and maintainable pipelines and applications.
- Collaborate with product data and operations teams to define business problems and translate them into end-to-end technical solutions.
- Contribute to our broader engineering stack including TypeScript React PySpark SQL and Python.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies particularly in AI/ML and help assess their relevance to TXSEs evolving architecture.
- Help shape the technical culture and engineering practices of a fast-paced early-stage fintech environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack development skills.
- Proficiency in Python TypeScript PySpark SQL and React.
- Deep understanding of data engineering.
- Proven experience in system design and working with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS and Azure preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fintech capital markets or startup environments.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling and model deployment
- Knowledge of data privacy security and compliance requirements in financial services.
