SUMMARY: Ambulance Driver OR EMT FIRST then AS NEEDED to provide maintenance services to our GSA or Tribal vehicles under the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center Ambulance Department. Vehicles located in this department include 2 GSA ambulances 1 tribal ambulance 1 GATOR and 1 snowmobile w/ accessories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provide emergency medical services to all members of the Macy Walthill Rosalie area
- Transport patients and assist EMTs
- Work closely with the Ambulance Supervisor on vehicle maintenance issues
- Network with area vendors regarding the appropriate maintenance needed to repair emergency vehicles
- Ensure that all program vehicles are clean and fueled up
- Schedule all vehicle mechanical upkeep: i.e. oil changes tire repairs general repairs etc.
- Maintain vehicle log of all repairs performed
- Work closely with the Transportation Supervisor regarding the return or upgrade of GSA vehicles
- As a courtesy keep the Transportation Supervisor appraised of all maintenance issues
- Work closely with law enforcement regarding vehicle accident reports
- Assess all vehicles that may need repair and contact appropriate vendors
- Transport all vehicles to appropriate facilities for repairs
- Order parts and equipment needed to maintain vehicles: i.e. windshield washer fluid DEF oil filters etc.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Six months to 1 year experience related to working in the Ambulance Department as an EMT or Ambulance Driver preferred but not required
- Mechanical expertise preferred but not required
- Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable with CTCHEC insurance
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed
