We are looking for a RAMS Engineer in Toulouse.

About the role:
As a RAMS Engineer at Pangea Propulsion your mission is to ensure the reliability availability maintainability and safety of our aerospace systems throughout their lifecycle. You will play a crucial role in the design analysis and implementation of robust RAMS processes and practices contributing to the success of our space missions and the safety of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert leadership: Leverage your extensive experience to guide and mentor other engineers in RAMS principles and best practices.
  • Drive innovation: Develop and implement advanced RAMS methodologies to address the unique challenges of complex space systems.
  • Influence critical decisions: Provide expert guidance and analysis and recommendations to shape design choices and ensure mission success.
  • Champion a culture of safety: Promote a proactive approach to risk management and foster a deep understanding of RAMS throughout the organization.
  • Stay at the forefront of the field: Contribute to industry advancements by staying abreast of the latest research and technologies in space system safety.
  • Develop and implement the Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) processes for our products including ARCOS KRONOS and UNYX.
  • Perform reliability analysis including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify potential failure modes their causes and their impacts on system performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine (LPRE) launch operation system testing and subsystem testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers systems engineers and quality engineers to incorporate RAMS requirements into the design and development process.
  • Establish and maintain RAMS documentation including reliability and safety standards procedures guidelines and reports.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement reliability and safety enhancements.
  • Participate in verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with RAMS requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and certification agencies to ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations and standards.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements best practices and emerging trends in RAMS engineering applying them to enhance reliability availability maintainability and safety.
  • Performing trade-offs and redundancy optimization studies.
  • Generate documentation for formal program development reviews.

What you need to be successful:

  • Masters degree in a relevant engineering field
  • Strong understanding of RAMS principles methodologies and techniques.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in RAMS engineering with a strong focus on space systems and a deep understanding of mission-critical requirements.
  • Familiarity with safety analysis techniques including hazard analysis and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of reliability analysis methods such as FMEA and FTA.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts and practices
  • Experience in the implementation of ECSS standards or other relevant standards (such as ISO 9001 ISO 26262 MIL-STD-882 ECSS-Q-ST-30 Dependability and ECSS-Q-ST-40 Safety)
  • Technical mastery: In-depth knowledge of space system architectures subsystems and operational environments.
  • Leadership qualities: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams foster collaboration and drive consensus.
  • Commitment to excellence: A passion for space exploration and a dedication to delivering safe reliable and high-performing space systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of RAMS activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • RAMS software tools and simulation software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively convey RAMS concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation skills to create clear and comprehensive RAMS reports and documentation.
  • Experience in managing complex projects
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English

Other useful skills:

  • Hands-on and in-depth experience with development of rocket engines or launch vehicle hardware
  • Experience in the use of Collaborative Engineering tools (i.e. Valispace CDP4 OCDT)
