Summary:
This position is responsible for making appointments; obtaining insurance and demographic information and handling telephones. Provides constant interactions with patients families caregivers clinicians and physician practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Represents department as the initial contact by establishing and maintaining positive customer relations.
2. Answers very busy phone lines and appropriately directs or processes calls.
3. Completes intake registration process by obtaining benefits and demographic information.
4. Schedules appointments in computerized schedule system. Tracks schedules special consideration patients and maintains the on-call list.
5. Maintains therapists templates and calendars for each month.
6. Greets and processes new patients.
7. Faxes documentation to physicians and schools & assists with filing of the documentation into the medical record on a daily basis.
8. Manages department cancellations to reduce charge backs to a minimum.
9. Provides continuous information between departments consumers and MD offices.
10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
Other Information:
Required: Data entry required.
Minimum Experience: six months
Desired: Knowledge of medical terminology. Bilingual-Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
