The Tech Netherlands organisation consists of more than 2.000 talented engineers who are working together over various locations (Netherlands Romania India Philippines) to deliver and own best in class services and applications for our customers. Each product or capability is led by an IT Area Lead of which Lease is one.

Lease
Within Lease we offer corporate clients (SEM SME Mid-Corps and Wholessale) the ability to lease equipment to run their business effectively. Our aim is to provide this service offering through our Digital Channels and with ability for consumption by other ING Lease countries. Today the collaboration exists between Netherlands and Belgium. We are intent on exploring expanding this to other prospect countries where ING is present but has no active Lease business yet. This will entail the further productization and hardening of our Lease digital products in order to make them ready for re-use and integration in other countries customer journeys.

Roles and Responsibilities
As successful IT Area Lead you:

• Create an atmosphere in which everyone feels appreciated and heard and where everyone deeply understands the purpose we are working on/ towards.
• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for Lease productisation digitisation consumption by other ING countries (you are hence available for brief international business trips in Europe).
• Help us adopt ING standard solutions to reduce our custom solutions to a relevant minimum and benefit from consuming available digital products to the max.
• Are driving smart change and you identify and address issues that prevent us from delivering fast. You take ownership in getting them solved and or clarified
• Actively align with the other Area Leads and business leads on the delivery and priority of the work setting high engineering and security standards
• Attract coach and retain the Chapter/Engineering Leads and nourish a top engineering and delivery culture with an innovative spark.
• Manage the IT budget staffing cross-entity service management

How to succeed

• Education: BSc/MSc in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on engineering skills primarily in Java and the ability to understand complex technical architectures.
• Leadership Experience: Previous experience as an IT Area Lead or similar role with responsibility for delivery and team performance.
• Communication Skills: Ability to articulate ideas clearly influence decisions and lead discussions with conviction.
• Mindset: Curious collaborative and solution-oriented. You embrace change and inspire others to do the same.
• Lead the design and delivery of digital customer journeys combining commercial off-the-shelf solutions and in-house developed microservices for cross-country consumption.
• Drive change and continuous improvement fostering a high-performance culture within your team.
• Manage an international team with full delivery responsibility including vendor management and IT custodianship.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders actively listen and find solutions that balance technical excellence with business needs.
• Communicate with clarity and confidence bringing a strong point of view while remaining open to constructive dialogue.
