Job Summary
The Red Hat OpenStack engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Brno. In this role you will play a role in the Red Hat OpenShift on OpenStack product (Shift On Stack). Youll contribute to feature development defect fixing testing sprint planning and process improvement as part of a highly effective and dynamic team that offers Red Hats customers a solution to provision Red Hat OpenShift clusters on top of a Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment.
As a Software Engineer you will participate as a member of a geographically distributed team using multiple communication tools for close collaboration. Youll need to have passion for modern open source development methods an interest in containerisation/virtualisation technologies and a desire to apply broad software engineering skills to product development.
What You Will Do:
Become a contributor to the various components of Shift On Stack (which range from platform support pieces inside the Red Hat OpenShift installer to Operators for provisioning resources in Red Hat OpenStack Platform)
Contribute to the regular delivery cadence of Shift On Stack
Build and maintain testing pipelines for Shift On Stack to cover new features new integrations with OpenShift and OpenStack and to guard against regressions in quality
Work with Red Hat OpenShift teams to shepherd code changes through their processes
What You Will Bring:
Programming skills in Python or Go
Experience in automated software testing
Experience in cloud computing and container management
Passion for open source software development
Willingness to work in a distributed team environment
Open to exploring and experimenting with emerging AI technologies relevant to software development proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate new AI capabilities into existing workflows and tooling
Experience using developing or administering Red Hat OpenStack Platform and/or Red Hat OpenShift environments is a plus
Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global cross-functional environment.
