We provide contractors avid builders DIYers and community leaders the tools construction service and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects from start to finish. We are seeking a dedicated and detail orientated Human Resources (HR) & Payroll Clerk to join our team and support our human resources department in various administrative and operational tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of payroll and HR functions ensuring the smooth operations of HR and payroll processes and ultimately contribute to the overall success of the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Ensure timesheets and attendance records are collected reviewed and submitted accurately and on time.
  • Track employee vacation sick time and other leave balances via our HRIS System.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll benefits and statutory deductions.
  • Support job postings and advertising across various platforms in an administrative function.
  • Schedule interviews between applicants and hiring managers.
  • Assist with employment letters reference checks and pre-employment administrative documentation.
  • Maintain HR records and personnel files with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Track and support safety compliance initiatives and maintain related documentation.
  • Support the coordination of employee training meetings and other HR initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in compiling HR metrics reports and compliance-related tracking.
  • Act in a back-up capacity for the Executive Assistant if required.
  • Maintain boardrooms and common areas and order / tend to supplies as needed.
  • Other assigned duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years experience in an HR Support role (experience with payroll is considered an asset).
  • Experience with payroll systems (ex. ADP Payworks Ceridian etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate professionalism and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
