Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Lead the planning coordination and execution of system integration projects ensuring alignment with university goals timelines and budgets
  • *Develop detailed project plans including scope objectives testing scenarios deliverables and resource requirements
  • *Work with business end-users and/or project stakeholders to gather and document projects business requirements with consideration for interpretation compliance and application of state/federal laws rules regulations & Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • *Develop high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements that is documented in an appropriate level of detail and in a format suitable for the project team to manage.
  • *Lead requirements analysis and verification and validation ensuring that requirement statements are complete concise comprehensible traceable feasible verifiable meets organizational needs and conforms to established standards for new system implementations and/or upgrades to existing systems that introduces changes in features and functionalities.
  • *Partner with University stakeholders including IT teams department heads and external vendors to gather requirements define technical specifications and ensure system solutions meet administrative needs
  • *Coordinate end-user acceptance testing and validation. Participate and administer user acceptance testing and follow-up on issue resolution.
  • *Assist in the development implementation and improvements to information systems and processes.
  • *Identifies potential risks and obstacles to System Integration Project success proactively developing mitigation strategies and adopts plans as needed.
  • *Manage adherence to project scope; escalate as needed if stakeholders are deviating from scope so team can conduct feasibility assessment.
  • *Provides support and assistance to the Director of Business Transformation & Technology
  • *Work closely with ITS resources and/or 3rd party vendor to ensure timely maintenance is applied to applications and user acceptance testing is coordinated.
  • *Provides instructions and training to staff on the use of applications reports exports and IT systems.
  • *Ensure compliance with ITS Information Security Offices policy & implements its initiatives including managing data governance requirements.
  • *Work with teams to evaluate and establish business transformation streamlining and processes leveraging technology and in accordance with best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the UH system on strategies emerging technologies best practices and ideas to continually improve services and promote use of technology.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in Management Information Systems or Business Administration or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for project management application support system administration and integration of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower payband in the University of Hawaii broadband system; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of project management application support system administration and system integration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts principles and methodologies.
  3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of the broad technology systems hardware and software associated with applications interfaces databases and network/infrastructure considerations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to recognize a wide range of intricate problems use reasoning and logic to determine accurate causes and apply principles and practices to determine evaluate integrate and implement practical and thorough solutions in an effective and timely manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.
  8. Experience with report writing tools and/or generating queries for reporting and data extracts.
  9. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish tasks in a timely and positive manner.
  10. Ability to meet deadlines and work outside normally scheduled work hours as needed to include day night weekend and/or holiday hours as directed.

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Working knowledge of project management SDLC methodologies.
  2. Knowledge of infrastructure network and server requirements in support of applications.
  3. PMP Certified
