Das Leibniz-Institut für Zoo- und Wildtierforschung im Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (Leibniz-IZW) Teil der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft will die Anpassungsfähigkeit von Wildtieren im Kontext des globalen Wandels verstehen und - wo möglich ihre Überlebensfähigkeit verbessern. Dafür untersucht es die Vielfalt der Lebenswesen Mechanismen evolutionärer Anpassungen und Anpassungsgrenzen inklusive der Krankheiten von Wildtieren in- und außerhalb menschlicher Obhut und ihre Wechselbeziehungen mit Mensch und Umwelt in Deutschland Europa und Übersee. Das Institut erfüllt diese Aufgabenstellung durch langfristig angelegte anwendungsorientierte interdisziplinäre Grundlagenforschung in Evolutionäre Ökologie Ökologische Dynamik Evolutionsgenetik Wildtierkrankheiten Reproduktionsbiologie und Reproduktionsmanagement.

Für unsere Abteilung Reproduktionsmanagement suchen wir eine/n

Studentische Hilfskraft/Tutor*in (w/m/div)
20 Stunden pro Woche

Sie unterstützen die Lehrtätigkeit der Abteilung und assistieren bei Laborverfahren (Immunoassays RT-qPCR Zellkultur).

Ihre Aufgaben:

• Lehre: Unterstützung bei der Vorbereitung von Laborkursen (Aktualisierung von Handouts Vorbereitung von Laborexperimenten Kommunikation mit Studierenden) und Unterstützung während der Kurse (Unterstützung der Studierenden bei Experimenten);
• Laborarbeit und Dokumentation: (beaufsichtigte) Durchführung von Laborarbeiten innerhalb der Abteilung (z. B. Immunoassays Bildgebung) zur Unterstützung der Forschung an Zellkulturmodellen.

Erwünschte Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten:

• Abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium in Biotechnologie;
• Immatrikulierte*r Studierende*r in Biotechnologie (.) an der Technischen Universität Berlin (TU Berlin);
• Abgeschlossener Kurs Reproduktionsbiotechnologie am Institut für Biotechnologie der TU Berlin;
• Ausgezeichnete Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

Vorteilhafte Fähigkeiten:

• Ausgezeichnete Organisations- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten;
• Praktische Erfahrung mit Immunoassays und computergestützter Bildanalyse.
• Fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse auf dem Gebiet der Reproduktionsbiologie sind von Vorteil.

Die Position soll vorzugsweise zum 15. Januar 2026 besetzt werden und ist zunächst auf 5 Monate befristet. Die Arbeitszeit beträgt 20 Stunden pro Woche und wird mit 1369 EUR pro Stunde vergütet (brutto).

The Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) in the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. a part of the Leibniz Association aims to understand and where possible improve the adaptive capacity of wild animals to cope with global change. To this end it focuses on the diversity of lifestyles diseases and mechanisms of evolutionary adaptation of mammals and birds on the limits of these mechanisms in natural and anthropogenically influenced environments and on conservation strategies that take these into account. For our Department of Reproduction Biology we are seeking to appoint a

Student Assistant/Tutor (f/m/div) 20 hours per week

The candidate will support the teaching duties of the department and assist in laboratory procedures (immunoassays RT-qPCR cell culture).

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching: Support in the Preparation of laboratory courses (updating hand-outs preparing lab experiments communication with students) and assistance during the courses (supporting students during experiments);
• Lab work and documentation: (supervised) execution of laboratory work within the department (e.g. immunoassays imaging) to support research on cell culture models.

Desirable knowledge and skills:

• Completed Bachelor degree in Biotechnology;
• Enrolled Biotechnology masters student at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin);
• Completed Reproduction Biotechnology course at the Institute of Biotechnology TU Berlin.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

Advantageous skills:

• Excellent organization and communication skills;
• Hands-on experience with immunoassays and computer assisted image analysis;
• Advanced knowledge in the field of Reproduction Biology is a plus.

The position will be filled preferably by 15th January 2026 and is initially limited to 5 months. Working hours are 20 hours per week with salary of 1368 euros (gross) per hour.
