This role sits within the Opticians Data & Programmes team. This team provides data and project expertise to the Opticians business.
The Project Manager will lead high-impact property projects within Opticians through the project lifecycle from creation to delivery. The
role will work closely with other Opticians teams and will engage with shared teams in the Boots business.
This role requires relevantexperience in project management and/or delivering business change and the ability to manage cross-functional matrix teams. The Project Manager will ensure that strategic projects deliver on time within scope on budget and ensure forecasted.
Project management - Leadership of large-scale complex strategic projects that are critical to our goals through the ful project lifecycle (creation planning delivery monitoring & closure)
Risk & issue management - Anticipate potential risks and issues developing contingency plans to mitigate them.
Monitor project progress closely taking proactive measures to address any deviations from the plan. Use the dedicated project management tool.
Financial management - Develop and manage project budgets alongside Finance Business Partner ensuring discipline throughout the project lifecycle. Track expenditures forecast costs and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
Quality assurance & governance - Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality.
Implement governance frameworks and adhere to business governance to progress projects and monitor delivery identifying issues & risks.
Project closure & evaluation - Execute defined strategies to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of project outcomes.
Lead and engage with project learnings. Prepare and support stakeholders in adapting to changes resulting from project implementation.
Engage in continuous improvement - Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and support the Programme and Strategy Manager with any proposed new ways of working.
Support the Programme & Strategy Manager in their role as required.
Minimum of 3 years experience managing large strategic complex projects with significant business impact (or relevant other experience).
Knowledge of best practice project methodologies and ideally with relevant qualifications (e.g. Prince2 Agile).
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
Excellent communication and able to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Ability to lead and influence matrix teams.
Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities.

Highly organized and detail oriented.
Decisive and confident in making complex decisions.
