About the position

The Essential Skills Trainer LMS Specialist andInstructional Designer is a combined role supporting MNLCs Learning ManagementSystem and developing custom interactive course content. This role is a one-year maternity leavereplacement offering a fixed-term opportunity to contribute to MNLCsinnovative learning initiatives. Thisrole helps learners build essential digital and learning skills by helping themnavigate and engage effectively in online learning environments. Reporting tothe Bridging Program Director you will collaborate with instructors ITadministrators and program managers across MNLC to optimize Moodle and advancethe organizations e-learning initiatives. Ideal candidates are creativeprocess-oriented organized and experienced in adult education LMSadministration and instructional design. This position supports innovation inonline and hybrid learning by integrating new tools improving learnerexperience through data-informed design and ensuring accessibility andinclusivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learningobjectives and goals for specific training programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts togather content ensure accuracy and design and develop custom interactivecontent while applying adult learning principles.
  • Recommend hybrid and asynchronous learning toolsand methods to instructors providing guidance on their benefits and best usefor specific course objectives.
  • Deploy course evaluations monitor results andformulate recommendations based on participant feedback.
  • Provide training and guidance to instructorsstudents staff and other LMS users on Moodle features and best practices.
  • Monitor individual deliverables and providerelevant and timely reporting on the training status progress and establishedKPIs.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure theintegrity of course content and functionality.
  • Develop and document standardized procedures forcourse setup registration and enrollment processes to streamline userexperience.
  • Assist in hosting online information sessionsfor training programs and courses.
  • Maintain and optimize the Moodle platform tomeet organizational needs enhancing functionality and usability stayinginformed of updates and coordinating with the hosting partner for technicalsupport and updates.
  • Identify engage and partner with EdTech vendorsand service providers to deliver learning solutions that align with MNLCsobjectives.
  • Provide expert support for LMS functionalityaddressing and resolving user challenges to maintain a seamless learningenvironment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Instructional DesignAdult Education or closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of adult education experienceincluding instructional design coupled with experience designing and developinge-learning course content. 2-3 years experience with a learning managementsystem and LMS administration (experience with Moodle is considered an asset).
  • 2-3 years of experience working in thenon-profit sector helping marginalized and/or racialized communities.
  • Applied understanding of the principles ofpedagogy and instructional design.
  • Demonstrated ability to create courses for ablended training program.
  • Technology savvy including proficiency in MSOffice 365 Suite (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.) proficiency withArticulate 360 (Storyline Rise) H5P or similar software Moodle D2L orother similar LMS platform and basic HTML knowledge required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality andexercise discretion.
  • Work well independently and on a team with theability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to buildcollaborative relationships excellent verbal and written communicationskills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projectsconcurrently.
  • Strong analytic ability and thought processability to problem solve.
  • People-oriented with substantialtechnology-related experience and implementation of delivery platforms.
  • Commitment to an anti-oppression practice thatcreates inclusive environments and promotes social justice gender equity andrespect for human rights in the workplace specifically supporting and workingwith marginalized and racialized women.

    Sound understanding of diversity and culturalsensitivity to identify and remove barriers that may prevent programparticipants from reaching their full learning potential/goals
