Job Description:

  • Support reliability assessments and qualification testing for aerospace components and integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with design and test teams to define and execute qualification plans including documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and lifecycle checklists for aerospace automotive and industrial products.
  • Communicate results and issues to various product teams within Microchip.
  • Work with the design teams to ensure that the new designs achieve the highest level of reliability while being optimised for manufacturing and test.
  • Understand industry specifications as they apply to assigned products and processes.

Industrialisation & NPI

  • Drive industrialisation of new products including driver boards and integrated solutions.
  • Support DFM/DFT (design for Manufacture/Design for Test) reviews and PFMEA activities across multiple product lines
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and ramp-up capacity.
  • Support the introduction of new test systems in the R&D labs and production lines.
  • Work with the subcontractors and production department to implement the appropriate manufacturing systems.
  • Implement qualification plans and publish technical information.
  • Consult with other Microchip Divisions and test equipment suppliers to ensure best practices in component selection manufacturing and test.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with customers or suppliers in Europe USA and Asia.
  • Support in-house training programs as required.
  • Take on other engineering duties as required and assigned.
  • Travel internationally on occasion as necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Mechanical or Reliability Engineering (or related field).
  • 10 years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability product development and/or test.
  • Proven track record in reliability testing industrialization and NPI processes.
  • Familiarity with ESA and aerospace standards is a plus.
