Job Summary

The Labor Relations role is responsible for providing expert guidance and support in labor relations matters to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance with the country laws and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). The role requires a strong understanding of business operations and labor laws with direction from senior HR partners. This position is strategically allocated based on current business needs focusing on fostering positive labor relations and effectively managing labor-related challenges within the organization. The specialist will play a key role in negotiating interpreting and implementing CBAs and will serve as a vital liaison between management and labor representatives.

Key responsibilities

Role Scope:

  • Union Relations & Collective Bargaining:
    • Lead and/or support collective bargaining negotiation with unions
    • Manage negotiations and follow-up with the unions
    • Manage union constructive relationship leading regular meeting with unions representatives
    • Collective agreement litigations
    • Ensure execution of agreements

  • Labor Law Compliance
    • Ensure company practices are aligned with country labor laws labor regulations and jurisprudence
    • Monitor legislative changes and provide guidance to HR and management
    • Support audits and inspections from Ministry of Labor or other regulatory bodies.
    • Play a coordinator role with labor authorities

  • HR Policies & Procedures
    • Develop and update HR policies aligned with labor laws and company values
    • Provide training and communication on labor relations to HR Management and employees
    • Generate monitor and communicate labor relations metrics and required reports
    • Manage site establishments learning activities coordinating meetings

  • Conflict Resolution
    • Advice leaders on handling disciplinary actions grievances and disputes
    • Support investigations and resolve workplace conflicts aligned with legal and internal guidelines
    • Promote positive culture that do the right thing and prevent litigation and disputes

  • Partnership with Labor & Employee Relations COE
    • Support and implement best practices developed by the Labor & Employee Relations COE.
    • Participate in the site assessment process.
    • Further advance the GE Vernova union relations strategy.

Role Requirements:

  • Business knowledge (get direction from global regional partners but need business knowledge) & local laws and CBA knowledge
  • Fluent in Local language
  • Labor relations knowledge
  • Negotiation skills
  • Policy design skills
  • Change management skills


For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between R$145.80000 and R$218.80000. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
