About the role
The Reception Teacher will design engaging indoor and outdoor provision carry out meaningful observations and use evidence to plan next steps that secure progress for all children. The Reception Teacher will lead transition work into Year 1 maintain positive parental partnerships and contribute to whole-school approaches to behaviour and safeguarding. The Kingston setting values strong EYFS practice and the new Reception Teacher will benefit from supportive leadership and collaborative CPD.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a play-rich EYFS curriculum promoting language independence and early number sense.
- Observe and assess childrens learning regularly and use this information to plan precise next steps.
- Lead transition activities and maintain strong communication with parents to support continuity of learning in Kingston.
- Work with Teaching Assistants to create stimulating continuous provision and to run timely group interventions.
- Contribute to whole-school events and early-years improvement priorities across Kingston.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with strong Reception/EYFS experience and confident assessment practice.
- Creative organised and skilled at building positive partnerships with families and colleagues in Kingston.
- Committed to high-quality early years pedagogy and able to start January 2026 with induction before January 2026.
