Job Summary

3-4 month contract with a local authority

Summary
  • The Brokerage Officer will join the Commissioning Team on a 3-4 month contract with a local authority. This role involves collaborating with Service Managers Senior Practitioners and Care Managers to source arrange and modify care packages placements in residential and nursing homes and supported living services. The position requires handling complex and contentious issues while adhering to the policies and procedures of the Brokerage Team to ensure standards are met and value for money is achieved.
Responsibilities
  • Perform placement brokerage within adult services including older people learning disabilities and mental health services.
  • Collaborate with the Commissioning Team to support market management initiatives.
  • Ensure timely supplier setup contracting and amendment activities.
  • Source services for individuals with no recourse to public funds as needed.
  • Update the Mosaic and CM2000 systems as required.
  • Work effectively with the Information and Assessment Team Care Management Teams Hospital Discharge and Finance Teams.
  • Identify savings and negotiate with providers to achieve value for money in brokered services.
  • Maintain clear responsibility and accountability in the brokerage function.
  • Ensure accuracy in record-keeping and consistent recording practices on Mosaic for financial forecasting and community care charging.
Requirements
  • Experience working with a Council is essential.
  • Experience in a health or social care context.
  • Experience in residential or supported living placement finding.
  • Experience managing relationships with stakeholders in health or social care.
  • Proficient in using IT monitoring systems for recording researching and reporting on brokerage activities customer contact and service performance.
Essential Qualification Required
  • A good standard of general education or alternative related experience.
