We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
The Department
Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC Trials) is Australia and New Zealands collaborative trials group specialising in investigator-initiated melanoma and skin cancer research. Working with leading researchers and institutions locally and around the globe MASC Trials develops conducts and publishes research and clinical trials that improve melanoma and skin cancer outcomes.
MASC Trials is a registered not for profit research organisation and has an academic affiliation with Monash University with a dedicated department supporting our research activities the MASC Research Centre.
The Role
The Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) will assist Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Data Managers with the coordination and data management of investigator-initiated multi-centre national and internationally recruiting melanoma and skin cancer research particularly clinical trials.
The role of the Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) requires sound administrative and organisational skills to coordinate and undertake a range of activities required in the support of MASC Trials studies and across our clinical trials portfolio on a day-to-day basis.
The CTA will support the operational team and assist with day-to-day activities relating to clinical trial administration such as drafting of trial documentation including social media posts maintaining of records contributing to regulatory submissions supporting data cleaning and data validation and organising the shipment of biological samples.
The role also includes ad-hoc administrative support to all team members such as data entry maintaining and updating various tracking spreadsheets and databases arranging meetings taking minutes and updating memberships.
