Lomond Colony School- Lomond Colony School is located west of the village of Lomond (from Lomond 1.2 km south on highway 845 15 km east on township road 162). The school has 24 students in grades 1-10.
1.0 FT Interim Teacher- multi grade level teaching.
Assignment includes - This position is in addition to a full-time teacher and two EAs working at the school. Lomond Colony School has a 4.5-day school week. Monday to Thursday school starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. On Friday school starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.
This position will commence January 5th 2026 but could start sooner if it works for the successful applicant and will conclude on June 26th 2026 .
The ideal candidate will:
- be prepared to always demonstrate respect for Hutterite culture traditions and beliefs
- be able to deliver quality instruction in a many-graded inclusive classroom
- work effectively with the colony school team
- be an excellent planner with a solid understanding of curriculum and assessment strategies
- have excellent personal communication and organizational skills
- be able to deliver curriculum in a meaningful and culturally appropriate manner without the use of technology
- cultivate and maintain positive relationships with the German Teacher parents and members of the colony
- be flexible creative committed and able to work well independently as well as contribute positively to our team of colony teachers
- seek professional learning opportunities and engage in the ongoing growth of their professional practice.
