Job Summary
Job Title: Radiation Therapist Contract
Location: New York NY 10029
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Hours: 40 Hours/Week (8-hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $40 $42/hour
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Radiation Therapist to provide safe accurate and compassionate therapeutic radiation treatments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately set up patients and administer prescribed radiation treatments
Verify and interpret port and beam images to ensure treatment accuracy
Maintain precise daily treatment records and perform routine chart checks
Conduct daily QA and safety checks for treatment machines
Prepare treatment rooms equipment and immobilization devices
Monitor patient conditions and promptly report any concerns
Identify and report equipment malfunctions
Explain procedures and maintain patient comfort and dignity
Maintain clear audio/visual communication with patients during treatment
Assist in training and evaluating students as needed
Participate in chart rounds team discussions and training sessions
Keep treatment areas clean organized and fully stocked
Perform additional duties as required
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in therapeutic radiation therapy
Varian TrueBeam and MOSAIQ EMR experience (Required)
Strong knowledge of treatment planning beam verification and safety protocols
Ability to perform basic dose calculations using treatment software
Education & Certification
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program
ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (Required)
Active New York State License (Required)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience preferred
