About The Opportunity

As an Infrastructure Planning Engineer you will play a key role in developing a mature transport renewal program aligned with Councils Road Investment Strategy and Active Transport Strategy. You will also support the program management of capital transport works delivery and help shape long-term planning through data-driven analysis and stakeholder engagement.

You will assist in developing and maintaining a 10-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP) for transport infrastructure and support its delivery through collaboration with internal teams and external project managers. The role includes coordinating condition assessments across the transport network managing grant funding applications and undertaking complex network analysis and planning studies to meet future demand and maintain service levels. You will also provide professional engineering advice to Council staff Councillors and external stakeholders to ensure informed and effective decision-making.

About You

Mandatory:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (degree level or above) accredited by Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in infrastructure planning of capital works particularly transport-related projects.
  • Experience in design planning or construction of roads drainage and pathway infrastructure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
  • Sound knowledge of asset management principles for roads drainage and active transport.
  • Current C Class Open Drivers Licence.

Desired:

  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in Civil or ability to obtain.
  • High-level computer skills for program management.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of TMR Standards and road planning practices.
