Position acts as a Janitor DSP for the Janitorial Services department of Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg Inc. a private nonprofit corporation that provides community inclusion and employment services for adults with disabilities. This position is based at the DHS facility in Roseburg. - Monday Friday
- 5pm - Until Finished
QUALIFICATIONS - At least one years experience working with adults with I/DD in an employment setting two years experience working in Janitorial and one year experience as a supervisor preferred or acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work with limited supervision displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
- Must be able to follow directions as well as work both independently and in groups.
- Must have ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid Oregon drivers license and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
- Pass criminal history check. (May include fingerprints and additional CJIS Background Check)
- Pass drug screen including marijuana/THC.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- Proven stable employment history with good work ethic attendance and punctuality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Provide commercial janitorial services at the DHS facility in Roseburg in a team environment with crew members within prescribed time limits including cleaning mopping sweeping vacuuming dusting restroom cleaning carpet shampooing window washing trash collection maintaining hard floor surfaces (stripping and waxing) using floor equipment stairwell maintenance and taking cleaning product from room to room (as per terms and standards of contract).
- Help control costs of contracts through efficient labor and material use properly accounting for materials and chemicals.
- Inform supervisor in a timely manner when materials or products need to be purchased.
- Maintain and ensure security at DHS facilities.
- Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors social skills respect for others and cooperation.
- Utilize tools equipment and supplies in a safe manner as prescribed by corporate procedures utilizing a safety first approach at all times.
- Understand proper use of chemicals and be familiar with their SDS properly following safety protocols.
- Know and follow existing quality control of product or service being produced.
- Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
- Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
- Attend and participate in required meetings trainings and committees.
- Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
- Exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy or procedures.
- Participate in safety and safety programs.
- Keep work area in a clean safe condition.
- Report any safety hazards accidents incidents of neglect abuse emergencies or problems to supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
- Submit timesheets and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Meet regular attendance requirements at assigned worksite because job requires face-to-face interaction with clients customers or other employees and/or because job utilizes on-site product and equipment.
- Regular dependable and reliable attendance required.
Support Functions - Assure quality of Sunrise employment services.
- Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors social skills respect for others and cooperation.
- Follow all trainee protocols including training employment medical and behavioral supports.
- Provide transportation to trainees as needed.
- Complete and provide evidence of training(s) to meet state requirements for Direct Support Professionals.
- Keep relationships with trainees professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with trainees.
- Assist trainees to acquire and develop the skills behaviors attitudes and personal characteristics required to function effectively in a work environment.
- Assist Employment Services staff in providing case management of trainees as directed. This includes trainee goal setting and training that would maximize their employment potential.
- Ensure job stations for trainees are set up prior to their work shift. Ensure processes are in place to keep the flow of material to job stations constant.
