Job Summary

Job Summary

The Office Professionalperforms office functions for the school district specifically for the Curriculum Instruction and Assessment Department with most of the time spent in support of the Elementary Core Curriculum (Grades DK-5) in seven schools. This person also provides support for the MTSS Coordinator who leads efforts related to the K-12 Multi-Tiered System of Support secondary counseling and K-12 social emotional learning and well-being programs.

Terms of Employment

  • Full time Monday-Friday 260 days per year
    • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-Th - SummerHolidays and/or Breaks determined by the Central Office
  • Starting Wage Range: $17.13 - $19.86/Hour

Evaluation

Yearly first two years then every three years following satisfactory evaluation.

Essential Functions

Providesoffice professional support including managing orders budgets and inventories for elementary and MTSS programs. Supports professional development and curriculum initiatives by coordinating scheduling facilities and travel processing purchase and mileage records and maintaining databases and records. Assists with events proposals and programs while ensuring efficient office operations and clerical support across department functions.

  • Order supplies materials and equipment in alignment with district policy and practices.
  • Track all applicable elementary and MTSS curriculum budgets other financial records and miscellaneous payroll. This includes tracking related to grant-funded activities.
  • Verify and submit teacher mileage logs related to professional learning workshops.
  • Verify and process purchase card logs.
  • Support scheduling and record keeping of internal and external professional development including travel - this includes IB PYP and Project Lead the Way
  • Schedule and arrange facilities for staff and other meetings.
  • Process inventory and maintain curricular materials and information using the MPS official inventory system.
  • Support curriculum office processes events programs and initiatives including but not limited to: Major Change Proposals Staff & Curriculum Development Proposals and New Curriculum Materials
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various databases and inventories.
  • Support the MPS Science Resource Center orders and tracking budgets.
  • Provide general clerical support.

Additional Functions

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to plan coordinate and prioritize work effectively.
  • Communicate effectively via district-assigned email on a daily basis as determined by the supervisor.
  • Accurately complete electronic time sheets and absence reporting via the timekeeping system per assigned deadlines
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Consistent and reliable performance of job responsibilities
  • Perform other job responsibilities deemed appropriate by the supervisor/building administrator and/or Superintendent.

Qualifications and Education

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Education:
    • Required: Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. equivalent.
    • Required: One year of additional technical/business training or its equivalent.
  • Training and Experience: One to two years of successful progressive office preferred.
  • Financial/Budgetary experience required.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Must be efficient with computers various software applications and related technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications is required.
  • Ability to function in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Actively engages in dialogue with colleagues to solve problems and attend to tasks/deadlines associated with the job.
  • Fine motor skills and ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted to lift and move equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to ride in a vehicle as necessary (e.g. training on occasion)
  • Able to work indoors during all seasons/weather/temperatures as permitted.
  • Possess sound independent judgment including handling of confidential matters.
  • Safeguard all district data.
