During the summer holidays Whitgift runs its own summer school for international students utilising all its fantastic facilities and modern boarding house. Whitgift Summer School (part of Whitgift Short Courses) with its innovative and exciting English language and academic courses along with activities which involve English speaking students is designed to appeal to girls and boys aged 11-17 from all over the world.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified committed and dynamic Director of Studies to run the English course component of the 2025 Whitgift Summer School and form part of the senior leadership team. As Director of Studies you need to be a dynamic and inspirational leader with a high standard of professionalism and passion for ELT who can enthuse and manage the teaching team to deliver innovative and engaging student-centred lessons using up to date resources and involving English-speaking students a real point of difference for this summer school. Applicants will be expected to be flexible and innovative in their approach to working practices and must lead high-quality teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the full life of our busy summer school.
Applicants must have a degree and be DELTA qualified (or equivalent qualification) and proven management experience in this field. Applicants with direct experience of delivering student-centred short summer courses for learners of English are particularly welcome to apply. Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
Applicants must be able to present evidence of their right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.
