Long Term Sub to cover a leave of absence from 12/1/2025 through approximately 01/12/26Terms: $250 per day for days 1-20 and $307 per day for days JFK Elementary Science & Digital Literacy/Computer Science teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and goals. The ideal candidate will: -Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Science & Digital Literacy/Computer Science Teachers including: 1. Creating varied and engaging tasks projects and presentations that children in grades K-5 can successfully accomplish 2. Developing age-appropriate standards based lesson plans and unit plans for a range of ages grades and student abilities 3. Collaborating with general subject teachers and specialist teachers to develop cross disciplinary lesson plans and integrated units that build transfer skills and knowledge in students 4. Engage students in the scientific inquiry process in an active dynamic classroom that utilizes Project Lead the Ways Launch modules to effectively address grade-level science & technology/engineering standards 5. Plan and deliver grade-level appropriate digital literacy and computer science lessons using Project Lead the Ways computer science Launch modules and additional resources to effectively address digital literacy and computer science standards 6. Use multiple means of assessment to monitor student progress and adjust practices as necessary to meet the needs of all students -Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Department Head -Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement -Plan and deliver effective instruction -Maintain classroom management -Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum. -Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. -Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
