Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and improvement of manufacturing tools dies jigs and fixtures.
- Provide technical expertise and support for tooling issues troubleshooting problems and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee the maintenance repair and optimization of existing tooling to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with design production and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials manufacturing processes and coatings for tooling applications.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling design fabrication and usage.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including tooling specifications drawings and maintenance procedures.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of experience in tooling design manufacturing or maintenance within a production environment
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA)
- Strong understanding of machining processes injection molding stamping or other relevant manufacturing techniques
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot tooling issues perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for tooling design validation.
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP).
