Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and modify custom tooling jigs fixtures and molds for manufacturing processes.
• Manage the maintenance repair and refurbishment of existing tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Analyze tooling failures and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with production design and quality departments to optimize tooling for efficiency cost-effectiveness and product quality.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials manufacturing methods and suppliers for tooling components and new tooling projects.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling designs processes and maintenance strategies.
• Ensure all tooling meets safety quality and regulatory standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design development and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD NX) for tool design and simulation.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding stamping machining) and tooling materials.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues implement corrective actions and optimize tooling performance.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design and inspection.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA Mold Flow Analysis)
• Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certification
• Proficiency in Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications
• Project management certification (e.g. PMP CAPM)
