Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and optimize new and existing production tooling fixtures and molds.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related production issues.
• Manage the maintenance repair and modification of all manufacturing tooling.
• Collaborate with design manufacturing and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.
• Specify evaluate and procure new tooling and equipment from external vendors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation including CAD models drawings and maintenance logs.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance lifespan and cost-efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field
• 3 years of experience in tooling design development or maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA) for tool design and analysis
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding stamping machining or casting
• Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T material properties and heat treatment for tool steels
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies for tooling issues

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software for tool validation.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with Mold Flow Analysis software for injection molding tooling.
• Knowledge of automation or robotics integration in manufacturing processes.
