Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise dimensional measurements using CMMs optical comparators calipers micrometers and other metrology equipment.
• Calibrate maintain and troubleshoot measurement instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Interpret engineering drawings GD&T specifications and blueprints to determine measurement requirements and inspection plans.
• Document and report measurement results accurately including non-conformance issues and maintain comprehensive records.
• Develop validate and optimize CMM programs for automated inspection routines of complex parts.
• Analyze measurement data to identify trends process variations and support root cause analysis for quality improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards industry specifications (e.g. ISO AS9100) and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g. CMM optical comparators calipers micrometers).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with calibration procedures measurement uncertainty and quality standards (e.g. ISO 17025).
• Aptitude for analyzing measurement data troubleshooting equipment and identifying root causes of measurement discrepancies.
• Relevant technical degree or certification in metrology quality or a related engineering field coupled with manufacturing experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA) for model interpretation and offline programming.
• Experience operating and programming advanced metrology equipment such as laser trackers structured light scanners or vision systems.
• Demonstrated experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) application and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a quality or metrology context.
