The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit interview and onboard production skilled trades and administrative staff for manufacturing operations.
  • Manage employee relations including conflict resolution disciplinary actions and grievance procedures for plant personnel.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures ensuring compliance with labor laws and manufacturing-specific safety regulations.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims and actively promote a strong safety culture within the facility.
  • Support performance management processes including annual reviews and performance improvement plans for manufacturing teams.
  • Process payroll inputs administer benefits programs and manage leave of absence requests for plant employees.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate development programs for manufacturing personnel including safety and operational training.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations issues grievances and conflict resolution in a production setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g. FLSA FMLA ADA) and experience with OSHA compliance and workers' compensation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit for a variety of manufacturing roles including production maintenance and supervisory positions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP/SCP PHR/SPHR) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • OSHA compliance knowledge or experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g. Spanish).
  • Experience supporting a multi-shift or 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
