Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) analyses.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for components.
• Support prototyping testing and validation of new designs.
• Collaborate with production quality and supply chain teams to resolve design issues.
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and technical documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD Inventor CATIA).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding casting fabrication).
• Demonstrated ability in material selection and application for various engineering designs.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced FEA/CFD simulation experience.
• Hands-on prototyping testing and assembly experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of specific manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding sheet metal forming additive manufacturing).
• Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system integration.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
