Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components assemblies and products for manufacturing.
• Create detailed 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models including Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize production.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and performance.
• Develop and test prototypes analyze results and iterate on designs based on feedback.
• Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to ensure seamless design implementation.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate design integrity and functionality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles GD&T and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal) and material properties.
• Experience with prototyping testing and validation of designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g. FEA CFD).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Hands-on prototyping testing or fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation for design tasks (e.g. Python for CAD).
