Job Summary
Job Description: We are seeking a Transmissions Design Engineer to be responsible for the design development and support of elegant and safe aircraft system solutions that exceed customer expectations for mission success. Transmissions designers work with gears bearings seals housings lubrication systems and drive shafts within the drive system and utilize traditional manufacturing methods such as machining castings and forgings as well as advanced technologies in additive manufacturing. Typical tasks include preparing drawing revisions and Engineering Change Orders prepare Engineering Instructions and specification revisions creating conceptual layouts performing preliminary component sizing and completing detail design tolerancing/stack-ups. As a Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to interact with Analysts Material and Process Engineers Manufacturing Engineers Test Engineers and suppliers to drive designs to closure.
The successful candidate will have experience in component design and manufacturing have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving have an understanding of loading and dynamics in mechanical assemblies be highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives be capable of managing complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes and possess excellent communication and technical writing skills.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to program requirements.
