Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for manufacturing.
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models ensuring manufacturability.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost.
• Collaborate with production quality and supply chain teams on design integration.
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and technical documentation.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback for continuous product improvement.
• Support prototyping testing and validation of new product designs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) for 3D modeling and technical drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Design for Assembly (DFA) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex design problems and develop innovative cost-effective solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA CFD).
• Hands-on prototyping or workshop experience.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond primary design scope (e.g. welding casting injection molding).
