Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Conduct design analysis simulations and calculations to validate concepts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective (DFM/DFA).
• Prototype and test new designs analyzing performance and implementing improvements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for design requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production and field use.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) and PDM systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Design for Assembly (DFA) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with material selection and properties for industrial applications.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and simulations (e.g. FEA) to validate designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA CFD).
• Demonstrated understanding of specific manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding sheet metal fabrication additive manufacturing).
• Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
• Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems.
