The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Rockford that are seeking CNC Machinists. Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes mills grinders) according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints G-code and technical drawings to determine machining operations.
Monitor machine operations adjusting feeds speeds and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers gauges).
Load and unload raw materials and finished parts ensuring proper fixturing.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or operational issues.
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery and tooling.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in setting up operating and troubleshooting CNC mills and/or lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and G-code/M-code.
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers and bore gauges.
Strong understanding of GD&T principles and performing quality inspections.
Experience with tool selection work holding and offset adjustments.

Bonus Qualifications

Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for program generation and optimization.
Experience operating and programming 5-axis CNC machines.
Demonstrated ability in basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g. CMM optical comparators).
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
