Key Responsibilities

Develop optimize and validate CMM inspection programs for complex parts.
Interpret engineering drawings 3D models and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
Perform first article inspections (FAI) in-process and final inspections using CMM.
Analyze measurement data identify non-conformances and generate detailed inspection reports.
Calibrate CMM equipment maintain probe qualifications and ensure measurement accuracy.
Troubleshoot CMM program issues measurement discrepancies and equipment malfunctions.
Collaborate with engineering manufacturing and quality teams to resolve part quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso MCOSMOS).
Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation and application.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D models.
Proven experience in CMM operation part fixturing and program troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of metrology principles measurement techniques and probe qualification.
Experience working in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.

Bonus Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA) for model manipulation and fixture design
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis
Familiarity with other metrology equipment (e.g. vision systems laser trackers portable arms)
Ability to develop custom CMM routines or scripts for automation and efficiency
