Key Responsibilities

• Identify evaluate and select qualified suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost savings.
• Generate and manage purchase orders ensuring timely and accurate material procurement.
• Monitor supplier performance quality and delivery to maintain supply chain efficiency.
• Collaborate with production planning to ensure optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.
• Resolve issues related to supplier performance discrepancies or material quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Microsoft Dynamics) for purchase order processing and inventory management.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes materials and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Ability to analyze market trends supplier performance data and cost breakdowns.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Epicor)
• Certification or experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience in global sourcing and international logistics
• Demonstrated success in supplier development or strategic cost reduction initiatives
