We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hudsonville that are seeking skilled Buyers. Key Responsibilities

• Source evaluate and select suppliers for raw materials components and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Create manage and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and inventory optimization.
• Monitor supplier performance quality and delivery metrics addressing discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with production engineering and quality departments to understand material requirements and specifications.
• Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with key suppliers.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation supplier relationship management and contract management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to identify cost reduction opportunities and optimize supply chain efficiencies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems like SAP MM or Oracle SCM.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• APICS or ISM certification (e.g. CSCP CPSM).
• Proven experience in international sourcing and logistics management.
