Texas A&M University School of Law invites applications for one faculty (non tenuring-accruing) position in our clinical program. This is a full-time 11-month position. The anticipated start date is November 17th 2025.
The successful candidate will serve as a Lecturer will practice law work with other clinic attorneys and teach and supervise clinic students to represent law-income clients. This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Directing the Probate and Estate Planning Clinic including teaching the seminar and supervising students on cases
- Primary point person for Medical Legal Partnership with Cook Childrens Hospital including accepting cases through the MLP
- Participating in the activities of Texas A&M School of Law Legal Clinic and the Law School more generally
- Mentoring and advising students
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership qualities
- Knowledge of legal research systems
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to supervise law students and assign and review their work
- Ability to teach in the classroom and one-on-one
Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
- Active membership in the Texas Bar or eligibility for admission without examination (waiver) into the Texas Bar
- Relevant legal practice experience
Preferred:
- Three or more years of legal experience
- Experience working with low-income or ESL clients
- Experience teaching or supervising either law students or young lawyers is preferred
- Prior clinical teaching experience is advantageous but not essential
