Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry
Location: Brick NJ 08724
Hours per Week: 36
Shift: Nights 312-hour shifts (6:45 PM7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend one winter & one summer holiday per contract
Float Requirement: May float to similar units (Med-Surg/Tele/ED holding)
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a telemetry/observation unit. This role includes assessing patient needs developing individualized care plans providing therapeutic interventions and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team. The RN ensures safe evidence-based patient care aligned with professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients and support physicians in delivering care.
Plan implement and document nursing care based on patient assessments.
Identify patient needs and prioritize care using assessment planning intervention and evaluation.
Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care through ongoing assessments.
Initiate assessments using clinical judgment patient needs and medical diagnoses.
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
Document care accurately based on standards acuity and clinical priorities.
Advocate for evidence-based practice and support innovation in care delivery.
Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing practice models.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience (required).
Experience in similar units strongly preferred.
Ability to float to similar care areas as needed.
Education Requirements
Required:
ASN
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Preferred:
BSN
Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam (Required)
Certifications & Licensure
BLS (AHA) Required
NIHSS Required
Telemetry Certification Required
CEU Contact Hours for Stroke (4 Hours) Required
NJ State RN License or Multi-State Compact License Required
ACLS Strongly preferred
Additional Schedule/Unit Notes
Unit: Observation/Telemetry
No on-call requirement
Floating possible to Med-Surg/Tele/ED inpatient holding areas
Prior experience as a contingent worker within the system is strongly preferred
