Valley Transit provides a $24000 Basic Life insurance policy isprovided through the Washington Counties Insurance Fund. Employer and employeecontributions are made to the State of Washington Public Employees RetirementSystem (PERS). Employees have the option to enroll in the State of WashingtonDepartment of Retirement Systems deferred Compensation program. Valley Transit grants annual paid vacation to regularpart-time employees which is calculated on a prorated basis of .04615 per paidhour which increases with continuous employment. All Employees are eligible toaccrue Washington Paid Sick Leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hoursworked in addition part-time employees will accrue Valley Transit Paid SickLeave at a rate of .02115 per eligible paid hour. Part-time employees accrueHoliday leave on a prorated basis. Part-time employees earn 0.02308 hours ofholiday leave for each paid hour and are entitled to four (4) paid FloatingHolidays each calendar year. Valley Transit provides limited reimbursement forthe purchase of job-related clothing and supplies depending on the jobclassification. Vision reimbursement of up to $300.00 as per contract period.
NATUREOF POSITION: This positionincludes the responsibility of cleaning buses transit facilities and relatedequipment. This is physical work requiring a high degree of energy and work will include fueling and maintaining other fluid levels in buses andother vehicles as instructed. Adequate driving skills for the safe movement oftransit vehicles are necessary. Hours for this position are Monday throughFriday 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
REQUIREDMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Satisfactory completion of pre-employment drug/alcohol screen physical and acriminal background check is a condition of employment for this position withValley Transit. Must be able to communicate and follow written and oralinstructions given in English.
DESIREDQUALIFICATIONS: Noprevious experience is necessary; however related experience and familiaritywith common hand tools and cleaning equipment are desirable. A valid Washingtonor Oregon drivers license showing a history of responsible driving behavior isrequired. The ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) in thefuture is needed.
